Teen's suicide: Who's responsible?

School Safety Experts Blog

A 15-year old girl in California got drunk and passed out at a party, three boys allegedly stripped her, sexually assaulted her, used a marker to draw pictures on her private parts, and then posted the pictures on social media.

Eight days after the assault, the teen hung herself.

Do teens exhibit signs of impending violence?  Yes, they often do.  The signs to look for, as well as a skill called “pattern-matching” are found in a book called Staying Alive: How to act fast and survive deadly encounters.  This book is being published by Barron’s Educational Series, and is scheduled for a May 2014 release.

The victim’s parents have filed a suit against the three boys, a female classmate who assisted the boys, and the parents that owned the house in which the party was held.

So who is responsible?
