A 13-year old girl brought a kitchen knife to DeRenne Middle School, and used it to assault a classmate prior to the start of school.
The victim was taken to the hospital for non-life threatening injuries.
School shooting threat revealed

Two students at West High School reported an alleged school shooting threat to a school resource officer. Police arrested the 18-year old who allegedly made the threat, but found no guns in his home.
The boy was looking at school shooting videos on a classroom computer, and told other students he was going to shoot others, then himself.
Drunken man assaults elementary school principal

A man was picking his son up from Eastbrook Elementary School when school officials suspected he was inebriated. They asked him to wait with his son in a conference room until the boy’s mother could arrive to pick him up.
At that point, the man told the principal, “If you talk to my son again I will kill you with my bare hands.” Police were called and they arrested the man, finding drug paraphernalia on him.
