Women abducted from school rescued in Nigeria

Nairobi, Kenya

Safe Havens International recently did work in Nairobi, Kenya, so this story is of interest to us.

Boko Haram is an al Qaeda-affiliated terrorist group that has attacked numerous schools in Nigeria, as they feel that these schools are teaching western values, which they feel is an insult to Islam.

In this story, some of the 20 women who were abducted from a school by Boko Haram were rescued by Nigerian forces.  In this case, schools are being specifically targeted by terrorists.  We need to learn from this and take a look at our anti-terrorism efforts in our schools.

There is no specific chatter about our schools that we are aware of, but when one is ‘under the gun’ is not the time to be planning.
