A school bus headed to Newport Elementary School crashed into a Jeep, got spun around and hit a second vehicle, sending the school bus onto its side.
The driver of the Jeep died of traumatic injuries, while the driver and 34 children on the bus survived, although over a dozen children were transported to the hospital to get checked out.
Initial reports stated the bus driver ran a red light, but the police are investigating conflicting stories.
A 29-year old man got onto a school bus headed for Alhambra Elementary School. He told the bus aide that he was with a boy who had just got onto the bus.
After he got off of the bus, a child found a magazine with 15 rounds in it. Police were notified, a picture of the man, taken from the school bus video, was given to the media. The police then received a tip that led to the arrest.
After his arrest, the man told police he was hearing voices, and feared for his life.
A new “game” being played at Marshall Middle School has led to arrests and injuries. causing a warning from the Lynn Police Department.
“Big Booting” involves a student coming up behind another, seated student and kicking them in the head. In one incident, a student was kicked so hard, an imprint of the shoe was left in the victim‘s head. The perp was arrested and suspended from school, and is being charged with assault with a dangerous weapon.
