Tornado Preparedness

In light of the tornadoes of yesterday and Sunday, and with more severe weather looming, it is a good time to brush up on your tornado preparedness.

Campus Safety Magazine has some excellent resources, including an article written by Safe Havens adjunct analyst Steve Satterly, 14 Severe Weather Survival Tips.

Moore, Oklahoma

Our thoughts and prayers go out to the families affected by the tornado in Moore, OK.  The Safe Havens team had just completed a site assessment of Norman schools, the first city south of Moore.

The devastation of two elementary schools, Plaza Towers and Briarwood brings the horror home.  We pray that they find more survivors in Plaza Towers, where more students are unaccounted for.

Woman assaults, threatens school employees

Chula, MO

During a conference at Chula School became enraged.  She tore a phone out of the wall, attempted to use it to assault the school principal, and threatened the lives of other school officials.

School officials restrained her until sheriff‘s deputies could arrest her.
