Navigate Prepared offers more free school safety training in 2018

With the success of their previous free school safety training workshops, Navigate Prepared is offering more training dates this Winter. I am speaking at eight Safety Summit Workshops in New Jersey, New York, Texas and Tennessee. Other dates will feature Michele Gay and her personal story as a parent of a Sandy Hook victim. Her session “School Safety: A Parent’s Perspective” will cover lessons learned from the perspective of a parent and discuss ways to improve safety.

From the Navigate-Prepared announcement on the Safety Summit Workshops:

“School and building administrators as well as first responders are invited to participate in our upcoming Safety Summit Workshops. Led by Michael Dorn, the nation’s leading school safety expert, these interactive events provide critical insights into real-world situations occurring every day, actionable steps you can implement immediately and round table discussions to deepen learning.”

Staff Drills - Free School Safety Training

Navigate Prepared Sponsors Free School Safety Training

I am honored to be keynoting eight free school safety summits in Ohio, New York, and Pennsylvania this September and October sponsored by Navigate Prepared. The events are being held to better serve their many school district clients and to provide a free resource to other school districts. I keynoted a series of similar school safety summits in Ohio and Pennsylvania last year and got excellent feedback. The summits are focused on ways to improve the emergency preparedness aspect of school safety training. This year’s seminars include updated information on emerging threats like acid “dosing” attacks and new school emergency preparedness technology.

One feature of the summits that has been extremely well-received involves splitting the attendees into groups. Each group takes turns conducting demo school safety, security and emergency preparedness assessment tours at the host school. These school safety seminars have attracted diverse audiences including a variety of types of school and public safety officials. I have been  impressed to see a number of school superintendents take the time from their busy schedules to attend. Many attendees travel from other states to attend these summits.

I look forward to these exciting events.
