Indiana the first to require an armed employee in every school?

Indianapolis, IN

Indiana could become the first state in the U.S. to equire that there be one person during the day to be armed.

Senate Bill 1 is up for a vote after making it out of the Education Committee.  Proponents say having an armed person in a school can prevent school massacres like Sandy Hook, while critics wonder of teachers should be armed.

The bill requires that anyone armed in a school receive special training on weapons and their use prior to carrying in a school.
